Savings on Directory Assistance now made easy and mobile via Java Mobile phones

GoConnect Australia Pty Ltd (GoConnect), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Australian listed GoConnect Ltd (GCN) has released the Java based version of its highlyacclaimed directory assistance mobile phone software, DirectAssist®.
DirectAssist®, is a cost-effective, easy-to-use search tool which allows users to self help access phone number details and relevant addresses via their mobile phones.
DirectAssist® has been providing savings to Windows Mobile handset users since August 2004.The application has now been successfully extended and tested on popular brands of Java mobile phones with MIDP2, such as Nokia, Motorola and Sony/Ericsson.
The first release of the Java product includes access to the USA and Australian directories, and will shortly expand to include other countries.
Richard Li, GoConnect's Executive Chairman said: "Using DirectAssist®, mobile phone users no longer need to call expensive operator assisted directory assistance services from their phones to search for phone numbers."
By using a GPRS connection on their mobile phones, users can search for listed phone numbers in a number of countries via DirectAssist®,, and have the phone number information returned to their mobile phones within seconds. This also includes the listedaddress. Once the successful search has been returned, the user simply highlights the number and calls directly.
The software application is now available for purchase from www.directassist.com.au with a starting price of $5.99 for a 3-month licence. A range of the compatible handsets and models are also listed on the site.
